Marvin Naing

Bio:

I got my Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of the Philippines – Diliman and immediately got interested in research in the field of natural products, drug discovery and development upon graduation. I worked as a researcher in the same university for a couple of years before deciding to pursue a Doctorate degree in chemistry at the University of Connecticut. I joined Dr. Angeles-Boza’s lab in Fall 2018 and now my research focus is in elucidating the interactions between biologically relevant metal cations and antimicrobial peptides and how these interactions affect the activity of these AMPs.  When not in the lab, you can find me cooking in the kitchen and gaining weight 1lb at a time. 🙂
